Wooden Business card holder in Madrone. I always have a bunch of business
cards with me and I was keeping them in a unprotected bundle in my bag - the
result - bent and mangled cards - the solution something to carry and protect
the cards, and certainly a woodworker would want something made of wood, and
especially cool looking wood.
So I made one of these for myself and have been carrying it around with me,
and getting compliments on it, for a couple of months. For me I wanted
something simple, low-tech, and able to carry 20 or so cards. To keep the cards
in the holder I put a wedge at the top that flexes the cards and keeps them in.
I have always liked madrone - it has cool color and grain. In bigger things it
can be a bit difficult to work with as it tends to move a lot. I got this wood
from an online source in the Pacific Northwest and it is well dried and stable,
and has nice figure and grain.
