Vintage 1970's Smith-Corona Coronamatic 8000 Electric Typewriter with original
vinyl cover.
Excellent vintage condition. Tested and works as designed. All keys respond,
all functions respond, electricity working fine. It has a ribbon, I've typed up
a paper, we recommend a new ribbon.
The top and bottom are beige, the center is a caramel brown. The keys are
brown with beige lettering.

If you're in the market for a reliable electric workhorse, then this is it, or
even if you collect typewriters, or just as a retro decor idea piece this is an
excellent option.

This typewriter is an extremely reliable portable electric typewriter, and
would be perfect for heavy typing.
This typewriter has a nice balance between keeping a lot of the feel of using
a manual typewriter, while having the benefits of being an electric machine.
The carriage return and backspace, for example, are still independent of the
electric motor, however the keys are similar to a mechanical computer keyboard,
and require very little force. The 12 inch carriage comes in handy with larger
pieces of paper, or writing landscape on a regular piece of printer paper.
However, because this typewriter is quite large (and also fairly early on in
the world of electrics) it is quite a heavy portable typewriter.

On the keyboard area,to the left is the on or off dial. This has a gray cord.
In the center is "Smith-Corona". On the top, right carriage area is
"Coronamatic 8000."

Approximate size is 22" Length Entire Cartridge, 15" Middle Width, 14 1/2"
Front Width, 6 1/2" Height, 15" Length.
Over 28 pounds without any packing.

Condition is good. Minor scuffs, a few spots, the on/off bottom wording is
worn and hard to read. I would recommend a new ribbon, we do not sell those.
The cover is a bit dirty looking (we did wipe it down), with some small holes.
