The 8 planet pin shapes are moulded in the UK over german-made, black steel
pins, then sent to Tokyo where they are painstakingly brush painted by hand (by
us!) and assembled into their serial-numbered, polished-acrylic display cases.
Each comes with a hand-signed info-sheet.

MAKING PROCESS
The pins are injection moulded in the UK by the same awesome team in Cornwall
(south-west England) that helped us produce real boy push pins. The planets are
moulded in a base colour of either sea-blue or bright yellow, over black,
German-steel pins. The rest of the colours and details are added by hand in
Tokyo, by my wife and I. We use enamel paints and small model-making brushes,
and finish each piece with a final coat of clear, semi-gloss lacquer for a more
consistent and durable finish. They’re then assembled (or ‘put into orbit’)
into their display case, which we finally stamp the base of with a unique
serial number.

The 8 planets of our solar system are featured in each pack of Planet Pins :
Mercury (metallic silver) Venus (metallic gold) Earth (blue and green) Mars
(flat red) Jupiter (yellow, rich orange and translucent orange) Saturn (yellow
and metallic silver ring) Uranus (deep, metallic blue and metallic silver ring)
Neptune (blue and translucent, iridescent white).
