This handcrafted, solid Curly Purple Heart hardwood safe with vintage Greek
Key Style Post Office Door is the perfect gift for anyone of any age. This
personal safe may be used as a bank for kids, a place to secure valuables, or a
safer container to keep medication (or "medicinals" if you are so inclined),
out of the reach of those who should not have access.

Purple Heart is a hardwood native to Central and South America. The heartwood
of this species is a natural, deep eggplant purple. No stain has been added to
enhance the color. The grain is usually straight; however, this particular
piece is prized for its notable, wavy, irregular grain that produces a
distinctive "curly" appearance. Working with this wood has some distinct
challenges, not the least of which is its tendency to dull carbide blades very
quickly! This wood is not considered to be endangered and it is not listed in
the CITES Appendices or the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species.

This solid Curly Purple Heart safe uses box joints for exceptional strength.
The interlocking complementary grain characteristic of box joint construction
adds to the beauty of the enclosure, which is mounted and secured with an
authentic, vintage, #1 Greek Style Post Office Box door. The cabinet is
finished with lacquer to bring out the natural color of this beautiful exotic
hardwood. This unique safe was handmade by an Army Veteran in Colorado.

The Authentic Post Office Door is solid brass manufactured in the Greek Key
Style with a fabrication date of 1959.

The safe measures approximately 6" H x 4-4/8" W x 5-1/8" D.

The post office door is brushed clean but the natural, accumulated patina
remains. The combination lock is oiled and turns smoothly. The combination is
included on the removable white sticker on the glass.
