1940s Donald Duck Carnival Prize Chalkware Bank!
This lucky duck was a carnival prize from the 1940s. He definitely predates
official Disney merchandise, but since Donald Duck was first introduced in
1934, this was a highly sought after carnival prize, official or not.
The duck is hollow for a coin bank and thankfully never used. This is the
style that needs to be smashed with a hammer to open -- so this fellow was
displayed only. He is a robust duck measuring approximately 9.5" tall and 6"
wide front to back.
Chalkware is incredibly soft -- it is hardened plaster with surface paint.
This guy is in great shape for his age, with only a few bumps and dings, which
is excellent since he is 70-80 years old. He is cleanly painted and the colors
are clear and bright with minimal fading.
Please review photos for condition. He is awesome for the right collector who
loves vintage chalkware, blemishes and all.
